BIOEva Roethler grew up in Iowa City, Iowa. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Arizona State University before embarking on a decade career working in fresh produce communications and media. She currently works as an editor at Comstock’s magazine, the premier business publication in California’s capital region.
In 2013, Eva discovered she has a rare genetic condition that causes spontaneous muscle breakdown called rhabdomyolysis. Since then she has been on a diagnostic odyssey that has led her through hospitalizations, misdiagnosis, medical leave and application for the Undiagnosed Disease Network, the last stop on her quest for answers as a medical mystery.
