Eva Roethler grew up in Iowa City, Iowa. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Arizona State University before embarking on a decade career working in fresh produce communications and media.
In 2013, Eva discovered she has a rare genetic condition that causes spontaneous muscle breakdown called rhabdomyolysis. Since then she has been on a diagnostic odyssey that has led her through hospitalizations, misdiagnosis, medical leave and application for the Undiagnosed Disease Network, the last stop on her quest for answers as a medical mystery. She writes about health, disability, food, art and business.
